It’s my birthday today. We aren’t planning much, just a dinner out tonight. This time of year is always kind of crazy with lots of social things and sometimes planning birthday celebrations just feels like another obligation. Continue reading “The Festivities Continue”
Holiday Prep in the Tropics
Well, I think I was a little flippant last time about my Dengue. After having quite mild symptoms the weekend I was diagnosed, it really hit me the next week and I was pretty miserable. I even missed a whole day of work, which is very rare for me! Continue reading “Holiday Prep in the Tropics”
Birding in Burma
This year Thanksgiving coincided with a Burmese national holiday called Tazaungdaing. This meant an extra day of school holiday than normal. We contemplated going to the beach and in retrospect that would probably have been a good choice considering Lindsey’s Dengue Fever but instead decided we would go on a short birding trip to see a bit of the country and for me to see a few birds. Back to Reality
Well, it was great while it lasted but tomorrow it’s back to the grind! We’re not too sad though as it’s been relaxing and it’s only 3 weeks until we get a few days off for Thanksgiving! Continue reading “Back to Reality”
5 days in Angkor
For our first trip in the region we decided to go to Angkor Wat which is probably one of the most famous tourist destinations in Southeast Asia; and for good reason. Continue reading “5 days in Angkor”
October Break
We made it to our October break! We now have a whole week off thanks to what we understand is the beginning of Buddhist Lent. The whole country has three days off from Tuesday-Thursday with the main celebrations being on the full moon on Wednesday. Continue reading “October Break”
